Awesome Libraries is a community-powered micro-granting initiative. On a quarterly basis we award $1,000 USD to a project that suggests creative solutions, proposes a new way of thinking about library services, and supports underserved and diverse communities.
The Awesome Libraries trustees lead our proposal evaluation and award selection process, and those that are able to give $400 annually to help us fund the projects we support. We ask potential trustees to commit to the following activities:
- On a quarterly cycle contribute to the grant selection processing by reading and evaluating all viable project proposals and participating two rounds of voting.
- Promote the chapter online and across professional communities of practice.
Awesome Libraries is committed to supporting a number of principles that we believe strengthen both libraries and innovation: diversity, inclusivity, creativity, and risk-taking and we prioritize these principles in our trustee selection process.
